The Fry family lived in Frenchay in Riverwood House. They were famous chocolate makers who made Fry's Chocolate Cream and Fry's Turkish Delight. They once owned the Fry's factory in Keynsham. The family are featured heavily in the local museum in Frenchay.

J.K Rowling went to school in one of our cluster schools, St. Michael's in Winterbourne. She is the author of the famous Harry Potter series.

Isambard Kingdom Brunel

Isambard Kingdom Brunel was a English civil engineer who is considered "one of the most ingenious and prolific figures in engineering history". Brunel is perhaps best remembered for designs for the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol, begun in 1831. Brunel also designed Bristol Temple Meads station. The railway (including Temple Meads) was the first of his railway designs.
